Understanding natural - "Fissures in Granite"

Many outstandingly colored granites naturally have occurring "Micro-fissures" or "Fissures" which as essentially natural cracks in the rock. Most "Exotics" are stone colors that in prior years were unable to be extracted or produced due to their fissures. In this modern time, sophisticated quarry techniques and factory production procedures have made way for new colors to enter the marketplace.
These new colors are particularly fragile in the "raw-unrefined" form. In the factory, both sides (face and back) of the slabs are filled with a penetrating resin that stabilizes the slab and fills the fissures. Proper manufacturing in the factory and installation, renders the granite slabs to be extremely strong, stable and durable.

Homeowners then have the choice of beautiful colors and new exotic patterns now made available. You’ll need to be informed about the process used to fill the fractures, and willingness to understand the natural veining, patterns and the filled fissures accompanying these beautiful slabs of granite.
